An Ice Gift: Michigan Ice Molds
Here’s a nifty gift idea for those who think the Great Lakes State is cool: MI-Ice Cube Trays that freeze water in the shape of Michigan—both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas.
The heavy-duty plastic trays are made in Michigan, and the packaging and website prominently list the businesses and suppliers involved.
Each tray makes eight ice cubes (ice mittens?) and they are sold two trays to the package for $8.49 (plus shipping and handling) online.
Find more retail outlets and other info on what has to be the only Facebook page for ice cube trays.
Note: Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s direction and do not twist the trays to release the ice or you may crack the tray and break the UP apart from the Lower Peninsula.
Can the mold be used for candy?
Good question. I don’t know because I’m not sure about the temperature. You should contact the maker. Good luck!
